My remote work career started with an out-of-the-blue layoff.

I'd worked as a radio news reporter for 15 years. It was my dream job. The job I thought I'd do for the rest of my life. I shook hands with President Jimmy Carter. I watched Air Force One land with President Obama at SFO. I flew in a vintage B-17 bomber. I loved my job.

Then, at the end of March 2015, the entire KGO newsroom in San Francisco was laid-off in one fell swoop.

I felt lost. Without a purpose. No idea what to do next.

I applied for jobs in radio. Didn't get them. Applied for jobs in public relations and communications.

Then, I came to a powerful realization.

I didn't want to work in an office anymore. I didn't want to live my life on a schedule.

My dream is to travel the world by sailboat and by van. And to do that sustainably, I needed some sort of remote work. 

So, I started freelance writing. I started a blog. I took class after class to learn how to do these things right. 

Now, I've been published in Good Housekeeping, Marie Claire, Fodors and SF Gate. I have a successful blog.

I have the remote income of my dreams. 

And I really, really want to help you have one, too!
